I've always heard that, “It is better to give than to receive”, but when you give you have to wonder, what am I giving for? Is the money, time or other donation I am making really making a difference. There are so many good causes, organizations and programs that desperately need donations, that it would be difficult to list them all. One such organization is the Daytona Outreach Center in Daytona Beach. They make a difference in the lives of so many and touch the lives of so many more. They help fix broken people. Regardless of your religious views that in and of itself makes this organization worthy.
I could heap praise upon Ray and Susan Kelley, the founders of Daytona Outreach Center for their tireless efforts, personal sacrifices and wonderful achievements, but they would only redirect that praise to a Higher Power. If you find yourself in a giving mood, if you have more than you need or if you have time to volunteer, I urge you to contact them and offer to help. It doesn’t matter who you are, or what you have done or failed to do, they will greet you with love, compassion and a complete absence of judgment. If you want to serve God or if you want to help people, Ray and Susan won’t tell you how, they will show you, just watch what they do!
If you can’t donate money or food or other necessities, there are so many ways to help. Even if you only purchase something you need from their thrift store, (at 610 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL) or spread the word, like I am doing, I am sure it will be appreciated.
