Greg Davidson is a multifaceted musician with roots in Florida, a strong drive for quality and a passion for inspiring others through his talents.
Having recently relocated to Daytona Beach from the Baltimore, Maryland area, he has been making a name for himself in the local music scene, playing acoustic solo acts, as a member in two bands and in an active role in the Music Industry Club at Daytona State College.
Having spent the past decade in the US Navy, Greg Davidson learned mass communications, and traveled the world with music by his side the entire time.
As frontman on guitar and vocals, or keeping the beat on drums, Greg Davidson makes sure that he is complimenting whatever project he is a part of not only musically but with presence, aesthetic, and confidence.
He can be loud and edgy for a rock band, soft and smooth for a coffee house unplugged, and can play most instruments a band could ask for.
Current projects include GDM (Greg Davidson Music) which includes acoustic solo cover material, reimagined live with percussive elements and effects-overlays integrated n on-the-spot recorded loops. In the future GDM will be used for production, as he is half way to completion of his associates degree from Daytona State College’s Music Production Technology program.
Greg plays second guitar and lead/back up vocals in pop-punk/alternative rock cover outfit, Pulp Free Fiction and plays drums with Spencer James Walsh in The Rattleshakes indie rock band.
Previous notable projects include Volunteer Musician with Musicians On Call hospital performance programs, Kavoossi Music second guitar and vocals, The Autumn Romance (single release), USS Philippine Sea Ships Band, Thermidorean Reaction, Star 69, and The Jamin Steelers/Island Breeze Steel Drum Band.
Greg can be found at the Daytona News-Journal center MPT recording studios diligently working on his craft, or at the Seabreeze Entertainment District performing for visitors and familiar faces.
“Sharing my knowledge and experience with others, through music, or about music, is what I feel I was put on earth to do.”
Greg said in a recent interview with LocalDaytona.com. He continued, “I am willing to collaborate with anyone within reason, on anything if I can be of assistance. I don’t restrict myself to simply what I like; I didn’t become a music producer to make or perform the music I like. I was given this gift to share with everyone. I’ve seen people laugh, dance, sing, cry, and so much more, because of a simple overplayed song. It’s not about me, it’s about what it brings to people.”
Greg Davidson hopes to be a keystone in some facet of the music industry, whether it’s behind a microphone, or a soundboard, tracking drums or striking stages, you’re sure to see or hear this local player soon!
