Florida Loves Mudding in Daytona Magazine
Urban Dictionary defines "mudding" as follows:

"To go out in the mud in the back of a truck or jeep or other 4x4 vehicle and spin in the mud until all the occupants are covered in mud."
This activity is also called mud bogging, mud racing, mud running

This “sport” or “activity” is growing in popularity in Florida.  There are organized mud races and competitions and other parks where you can drive or ride your vehicle through the mud. Always check with local, state and federal authorities for rules about mudding on public lands.

Some say that the activity is done predominantly by teenagers and young adults who live in rural areas where there aren’t many other activities available.  However, we have discovered that in Florida, mudding seems to appeal to a much more varied group of people.

People may go mudding to test the limits and capabilities, but the most common answer we encountered when we asked people why they go mudding is, “IT’S FUN!!”  Maybe it is a subconscious rebellion against all those times we were told as children, not to get dirty.  Maybe that’s why even the kids get involved.
